Springs are under extreme tension and should only be replaced by a trained technician. Operating a door with a failed spring risks cable snap or opener motor damage.
Most residential replacements — including removal of the old door and installation of the new door and hardware — are completed within 3 to 4 hours. If a new opener is being installed at the same time, add approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. We don't leave until the system has been tested and verified.
